LET him THAT GLORIETH, GLORY IN KNOWING HIM

Praise be to the wonderful Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  By His abundant grace we have entered the fourth month of this year 2020.  As we just have crossed a quarter of this year, we are seeing the whole world being shaken up by a pandemic called covid 19.  But the redeemed always must be sure of the fact that Christ is always greater than all the crisis.  God has allowed this to happen at this time with a purpose that He alone knows.  Pandemics like this never come to stay still but will just pass through. But He is using this crisis to catch the attention of this world and to shake us up, the body of believers to realise who He is, who we are and where we are in His timeline. Luk 21:28 declares, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”.

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” – Jer 9:23,24

If there is anything or anyone we can boast about, it is in the fact that we understand and know our God.  We boast about Him by recognizing, acknowledging and honouring Him in all walks of our life.  It is because He is the one who exercises lovingkindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth. Pro 3:6 declares, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”.

This world that we are living in is functioning in it’s own wisdom, might and riches. And some of the believers too has fallen prey to this because of not realising that we don’t belong to this world.  Christ Jesus said that though we are in this world, we are not of this world. He said so because He has given us His Word and separated us (John 15:19; 17:14).  God’s Word is the dividing line between us and the world. The very nature of God’s Word is to separate.  That is what we see very early in the Holy Scriptures. When God spoke His Word in Gen 1:3 and said, “… Let there be light: …“, there was light. At the same time, the light that came because of the Word He spoke also separated the light from darkness as we read in Gen 1:4.

As the Word of God worked in the creation, it also works in the lives of the redeemed.  The more the light of His Word dawns into our lives, there is no place for darkness in any area of our lives.  That is how we live a separated life.  Though we need to love all the people, we should always remember there’s no need for us to be like the world in order to love the people of the world. The life of our Lord Jesus Christ in this earth is a perfect example to this.  2 Cor 6:14-18 declares, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.“.  Also 1 Thess 5:5 declares, “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.“.

All those that are born again by the incorruptible seed of His Word, live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matt 4:4; 1 Pet 1:23).  That’s what the Holy Spirit does. He leads us into all the truth (Rom 8:14; John 16:13). When we have the revelatory knowledge of His Word, we can boast in knowing Him.  It is because God is Word and Word is God (John 1:1,14;  1 John 1:1).  This revelatory knowledge can never be hidden because it manifests in and through our lives.

When we walk in the light of the Word, we’ll know that the God almighty we serve is wiser than the wisest as Mat_12:42  declares, “….. behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”. He is mightier than the mightiest as Mat 28:18 declares, “….. All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”. Also He is the richer than the richest as Gen 14:19  declares, “….. Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:”.

We the believers don’t live by the wisdom, might or riches that this world offers. The times and seasons we are passing through clearly convey to us that the wisdom, might and the riches of this world will fail.  We live because of God almighty, the Lord Jesus Christ.  We live by faith in every word that proceeds out of His mouth. Its His grace that has offered us this life.  Its all because of knowing Him. That’s why it is very important for us to boast ourselves in knowing and understanding Him.  When we do so, He gives us His wisdom, His might and His riches.  All wisdom, might and riches that are obtained without keeping God almighty as the first priority in our lives are from the world. In Matt 6:33 the Scripture declares, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”. So, let’s recognise, acknowledge and honour Him, in and through the life we live.  Because He says that when we do so, He delights in it.

May His Agape, Grace, Peace, Protection & Provision continue to abide with us all in Jesus Christ’s Name throughout this month and beyond.
